Are Tauck cruises worth the money?

I would certainly use Tauk again. Tauck always delivers an excellent tour experience-well worth its cost. This was my 7th tour with them. Tauck is the premiere of traveling experiences, high end but well worth the money.

Tauck really caters to single women. I've found that the average age is around 65, but normally ranges between 40 and 90. The trips are all-inclusive—the room, food, beer, wine, and excursions are covered.

Items such as slacks and collared shirts are appropriate for men. For women, slacks, a dress or a skirt and blouse are suitable. For dinner and throughout the evening, guests should refrain from wearing shorts, t-shirts, jeans, sandals, flip-flops or sneakers.

Tauck's classic escorted tours travel with about 40 group members, but under the operator's special small group provision on specially designated departures they travel with only 24.

All appropriate gratuities for luggage handling, bellmen, doormen, dining room servers, and ship staff are included. Tauck Tour Director gratuities are not included on Tauck land journeys, but are included on all Tauck Bridges trips.

Tips should be presented in the local currency. On tours of the U.S. and Canada, it is customary to tip your full-time Tour Director a minimum of $4-5 per person, per day. Additional tipping, at your discretion, is common for outstanding performance.

Smoking is prohibited on stateroom balconies. Guests in the Garden Villas may smoke in their private garden and on private sun decks. Public areas throughout all ships are smoke-free. If you smoke regular or electronic cigarettes, you can do so in designated areas only.

If caught smoking in your cabin or cabin balcony, you will be told to stop and charged a "cleaning fee" (typically $200 to $250). If you continue to break the rule, you may be forcibly removed from the ship.
